Anthony J Antenucci “Tony,” 72 of Arlington VA passed away suddenly on August 22, 2024. Tony was born on May 27th 1952 to Damiano and Adelina Antenucci in Isernia, Italy. He was 18 months old when he arrived in Brooklyn, NY along with his parents and sisters, Anna (Gioino) and Rita (Morrison).


He lived in Brooklyn until his college graduation from Polytechnic Institute of Brooklyn in May 1973 with a BS in Aerospace Engineering. For most of his career he worked for the Federal Government. He retired from the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) as an Operations Research Analyst in 2009.


Tony loved to travel, walk, hike and cook. He was a kind, gentle, generous and religious man. He volunteered at the food delivery program at St James RC Church in Arlington, VA. Tony also volunteered as courier and traveled the country to bring bone marrow to hospitals for people in need.


Tony is predeceased by his parents, Adelina and Damiano Antenucci and his sisters Anna and Rita. He is survived by a niece, Roseann Meehan (John) and nephews John Gioino (Jennifer) and Joseph Gioino. He is also survived by great nieces and nephews, Melissa Meehan, Jonathan Meehan, Patrick Gioino and Caroline Gioino. His family will miss his company, sense of humor, well thought out advice and generosity.
