Obituary of Jeremy Niles Kempton

Kempton, Jeremy Niles of Glen Cove, NY on January 17, 2020 at Age 75. Beloved husband of Patricia. Loving father of Kristalynn and Thomas. Dear brother of Ted (Corki). Proud uncle of SueEllen and Terri. Adored great-uncle of Brigid. Visitation at the Dodge-Thomas Funeral Home on Friday 2-4 and 6-8pm. Service at St. Paul's Church on Saturday at 10:00 am. Interment to follow at St. Paul's Churchyard. Donations may be made in his memory to St. Paul's Church, 28 Highland Road, Glen Cove, NY 11542
Mr. Kempton was founder and conductor of Island Chamber Symphony, affiliate of Brooklyn Symphonic Orchestra. He was a music teacher at North Shore School District and Chaminade High School. He was also a member of other various musical groups including St. Paul's Choir.
Mr. Kempton was a graduate of Eastman School of Music under Dr. Emory Remington. He received a Fellowship at the University of Illinois and was a member of University Jazz Band, where he received his Masters. When Jeremy was in the Peace Corp he was a trombonist in the National Symphony in Tehran and spent 16 years at Interlochen Center for the Arts.
