Jeanette and I were classmates at St. Michael's school in Flushing NY as well as neighbors. Jeanette was a gentle person with an easy laugh and a smile that could light up the room. I remember how pretty she looked in our class photos and how my heart skipped a beat when we saw each other in the neighborhood after school. I remember also that Jeanette had perfect handwriting which I thought was amazing. Godspeed Jeanette. ♥

You are every part of my childhood memories. We met at the city bus stop in first grade – “Hi, I’m Jeanette. Hi, I’m Regina.” And that’s how it began. We lived across the street from each other in a neighborhood full of kids. We played errors, spud, stick ball, jump rope and spent hours sitting on Paula’s stoop talking about everything – mostly boys. It was there that we could hear the screams from Shea Stadium when the Beatles arrived. We took swimming lessons at the Y, went ice skating at the NYC building in Flushing Meadow Park. We sat through the Dave Clark movie (RKO Keiths) about 4 times because they promised an appearance that evening. We thought they would sing but all they did was walk across the stage and wave. We were so pissed. We snuck into the World’s Fair as often as we could and our favorite exhibit was Bell Telephone where we could video chat with people in Disney Land! We were on the bowling team at Whitestone Lanes and spent many summer days at Whitestone Pool.
We were the first group of kids to join St. Michael Archangels as twirlers. We took private lessons and entered several competitions where we won both team and individual performances. I remember marching on Main Street for the Thanksgiving Day parade and we even got to march in the City once for St. Patrick’s Day. Every Christmas season, the band went to Laguardia Airport to sing carols in the terminal and then they served us hot chocolate on one of the planes at the gate. Every one of these memories has you in them. I hear your laugh and see your face.
Even though you moved to Glen Cove, we still kept our friendship. I would take the bus out and spend the weekend. When we got our licenses we would meet at the discos.
You were a part of everything. I can’t look back over my life and not see you in every special moment. I will miss you, my friend. A pretty big piece of my heart goes with you. Until we meet again, Rest In Peace.
Love you
Regina

We only just met when I moved to Club 59! I so enjoyed the times you and I had down here. It was too short
Shelva has known you 30 years and said they were all good years.
You will be missed❤️
