With sincerest sympathy to Dorothy and Family upon the passing of Joe. The Hoseys and Mullaneys were very close and treasured friends of my family (Dowd) from the beginnings of Rego Park. It was a wonderful day when Joe visited us on Booth Street. He was such a pleasant and uplifting man. We have been living in Wading River, LI due to medical issues. I haven't been to Resurrection since, but always check bulletin online where I saw Joe's name in the prayer column. Joe Hosey ad I both graduated from Bishop Loughlin H.S. in June, 1950. We both were from Queens, NYC, I from St. Mary gate of Heaven Parish in Ozone Park and he from Resurrection-Ascension Parish. We both entered the De La Salle Christian Brothers. In subsequent years we both graduated from Catholic University and took our American History Comprehensive Exams together at Manhattan College, now Manhattan University, for our M.A. degree. Joe was always a leader. I always looked up to him. When we had group sessions to study for our Comprehensive Exams, he chose the topics and lead the group. Joe was a man's, man, strong in character and in his religious beliefs, but never ostentatious. May Joe be rewarded for his good life. Eternal rest grant unto him, O Lord.
