Love. That is the one word I can use to describe my memories of Josie. From the 1st time we met, I was a part of the family. She couldn't do enough for me and never wanted me to leave when I came to visit. A visit to her home always included a meal cooked with love. There was never ending conversations from little things like how often we should fluff the pillows on the couch to the sadness and violence on the latest news report. Other peoples sorrows always touched her deeply. Even strangers. We shared so many fun times. Shopping, lunches, dinners and endless car rides to see Halloween decorations and Christmas lights. Hot dog dinners and ghost hunting every Halloween. Home baked xookies at Christmas. We shared a love for decorating for the holidays and if I admired something she would often just hand it over and say, take it. I have pieces of her now to cherish forever. I will miss her smile, her warm embrace, her animated expressions and honest opinions. Josie was my second Mom and will live on in my heart forever. Let's not mourn her loss but celebrate the wonderful force of life that she was. She was the flame that drew us all to her.
