Obituary of Dominick A. DiMarco

Please share a memory of Dominick to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

In loving memory of Dominick A. DiMarco, of Glen Cove, who passed away on July 6, 2024, at The Mary Ann Tully Hospice Inn, Melville, NY. Born on August 11, 1943, in Viggiu, Italy, and raised in Jackson Heights, Queens, he was the son of the late Pasquale and Filomena Parisi.

Dominick was a loving father to his two children, Elena and Cara. He leaves behind a legacy of devotion to their lives, and the ones he loved most. He is survived by his grandson, his sisters Civita and Marie (David), and many nieces and nephews.

Dominick, an immigrant, was amongst some of the last to pass through Ellis Island’s doors. He was 3 years old when he began his new life in the United States. His passions in life knew no boundaries. He started out as a house painter, working his way into the world of retail. He sold furniture for almost 30 years, and spent most of his life as a real estate investor, owner and manager, an occupation his father held for many years. Known for his warmth and inviting personality, fun-loving nature, and extraordinary cooking, he most loved hosting “Sunday Night Dinner” each week for his family and friends. Dominick was always looking out for others, especially those who also immigrated to this country. He was truly “larger than life” itself.

Visitation at Dodge-Thomas Funeral Home, Glen Cove on Thursday, July 11, 2024 from 4-8pm.  Mass at the Church Of St. Patrick on Friday, July 12, 2024 at 10:00am.  Interment to follow at Holy Rood Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family request that charitable donations be made in remembrance of Dominick A. DiMarco to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. https://www.stjude.org/
