Obituary of Gail M. Daniello
Gail M. Daniello, 83, formerly of Banning, CA, passed away on Thursday, November 23, 2023, at Lighthouse Senior Living in Ellicott City, MD with family by her side after a difficult battle with dementia and lung cancer. Gail was born November 6, 1940, in Grand Rapids, MI to the late Paul and Marion Holloway. She lived in various states as a young girl and attended high school at Mount St. Mary Academy in Kenmore, NY until the family moved at the end of her senior year, therefore receiving her diploma from Plymouth High School in MI. From there she began a career as a secretary, moving to California and in time began working for North American Aviation in CA, where she met her future husband, Vincent. They both transferred to Cape Canaveral, FL where she continued to work as an executive secretary during the Apollo program, in what was then known as the Vertical Assembly Building. After marrying and starting a family she and Vincent built a home and moved to New Fairfield, CT to raise their family. Gail became a full-time homemaker during which time she perfected her sewing skills, developing into an accomplished seamstress. She was an avid reader and enjoyed hobbies such as golf, bowling, ladies card club, dinner club and volunteering at her four children’s many activities. After her children were grown, she and her husband moved back to CA, settling in a retirement community in Banning.
Gail was preceded in death by her husband Vincent, in January of this year. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her brothers, Kenneth, James, and Donald. Gail is survived by daughter Lauren, her husband Chris, and their children Stephen, Andrew & Joseph; daughter Carmela and her children Robert & Ryan; son Vincent, his wife Kaitlin, son Julian, and stepson Kamden; and son Anthony and his children Gianna & Giovanni. She is also survived by her sister Janice and many nieces, nephews and cousins. Gail will always be remembered as a loving daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, aunt, and friend.
Visitations will be held on Friday, December 8 from 6-9pm at Dodge-Thomas Funeral Home, 26 Franklin Avenue in Glen Cove, NY. A funeral mass will be held at St. Gertrude’s Catholic Church, 28 School Street in Bayville, NY at 11 a.m. on Saturday, December 9. Interment will immediately follow at Locust Valley Cemetery, 117 Ryefield Road in Locust Valley, NY.
