Mom was a wonderful person and a wonderful Mother-in-law. I draw on her skills in "dealing" with my daughter-in-law and I try not to be worse than her... She was an example to me that a Mother-in-law can be a Mother. My relationship with her when she was present in Poland taught me a lot. After that, there were no more frequent opportunities to talk only by phone, but she always burst with optimism and refined humor with a pinch of sarcasm.

I met Barbara in 1992 when we both lived in Port Washington. She was hard working woman, who after full day of work, enjoyed playing cards - Bridge. She was such an enthusiast of that game, that she was willing to teach anyone, just to have 4 people (minimum number of players) to play the game. Barbara and Irena knew the game well, Lucy and I were the 2 beginners, but we all had fun playing. That's how I will always remember her.

My condolence to the family of this wonderful woman, Miss Barbara, as I called her was very kind and sweet and full of much wisdom.. I met her years ago and reconnected with her when I worked at the Glen Cove nursing and rehab center. When I would come in to give her her medication, she said “Mrs I love to see you come in because you have such a beautiful face and personality and I said Miss Barbara your face is even more beautiful. miss Barbara will be greatly missed..♥️Loretta
