Obituary of Albert A. Gonzalez

Albert Anthony Gonzalez, known to many as Albie, 68, born in Glen Cove, NY passed away on Tuesday March 28, 2023. He was born November 15th 1954, the son of Margaret McCauley and Santos Gonzalez. He is survived by his wife Eileen Sheehan, their children Albert Jr. and Nicholas Gonzalez, and his brother and sisters Michael McCauley, Margaret Winowsky and Michelle Gonzalez. He has three grandchildren Leah, Anna and Ruby, and many cousins.

He enjoyed life, and took pleasure in the simple things. He was an avid outdoorsman enjoying hunting and fishing and hanging by the beach. He has a heart for adventure and action. As a young man, he was an amateur boxer and an avid softball player. You could count on him having a good time wherever he went, always sharing a laugh, ribbing a friend or coining a creative nickname.

An automobile mechanic by trade at Thoro Exxon and Albie's Automotive, he was always happy to help stranger. He was a kind and compassionate problem solver, often going out of his way to do the right thing. A lover of food and drink, he can often be remembered saying "where's the salt". He is loved by many and missed by all he touched.

Visitation and Funeral Service will be held at Dodge Thomas Funeral Home, 26 Franklin Ave, Glen Cove, NY 11542 on Saturday, April 8th, from 12-4 PM and the service to begin promptly at 2:30pm,
