Heather was the professor who put all the pieces together for me. Nursing school is very hard and focuses on the textbook. But at some point you meet a professor who adds heart to the mix and proves why you need more than a textbook in this field. I will never forget walking in for finals only to hear gospel music blasting in the room. Nomatter how strict she was she was a nurturer first and did her best to reassure us and tackle our anxieties. I will never forget her.

Not only was Mrs. Buccello my favorite nursing school instructor many years ago but she also became my provider at the doctors office where we developed a greater bond. I looked forward to each appointment with her because I knew it would be laughs and a good time. She always talked about her daughters or reminisce about her famous lectures. I know she’s touched many peoples hearts with that beautiful smile and intelligence she shared. I am truly heartbroken that I will not be seeing her at my appointments. I pray her soul rests in eternal peace and God gives her family and loved ones strength.

Heather was not only a friend but a mentor. She enjoyed life, and dedicated it to helping others. God was always the center of her life and she does nothing without praying about it. In fact she will be remembered by her students and colleagues for the gospel songs and prayer before she administers each exam. Heather loved order, and was not afraid with her bluntness. You know exactly where you stand with her. Heather, I miss you, but will cherish the fashion moments, the laughter, and the gift of knowing you. You are in your eternal home. RIP.

I will always remember Heather coming out of Rm 3, Tall , statuesque, smiling and energetically ready to go to the next room where a patient would be waiting to have their concerns addressed and their mind put at ease. And as she walked across, her smile filled the waiting area and she would ask how I was doing today. She was an example of how sincerity and humility wrapped in one human could be shared to brighten a world in need of hope and love. She would be greatly missed by all. My condolences to her family -her husband and children. She is truly a Blessed Soul.

My condolence to Heather’s family. We were academic colleagues for many years. During that time we laughed, disagreed, and then laughed some more. Heather was an excellent clinician and professor. She was passionate about education and highly respected by her students. She was also my fashion guru; never reluctant to give me styling tips. Frank, Nyika and Catherine I wish to express my condolences to you and Heather’s extended family.
Heather and I met at The Greater Allen Cathedral of New York several years ago and since then we have shared so many worship experiences sitting next to each other every Sunday morning in church. Throughout the pandemic, we continued to worship together virtually as we would text each other in agreement to the preached word or the singing.
We shared some fun memories together as Heather would find laughter in almost every situation. I recall talking to Heather one day on the phone and after telling her how I missed seeing her she called back shortly afterwards and told me to look outside my front door and sure enough there was Heather doing what she called “ a drive by”
Today I take comfort in the fact that I could call her my friend and my sister-in Christ. Rest well my friend as I will surely miss you.
Frank, Nyika and Catherine I pray that God gives you the strength to endure this loss.

I Love You. That's how we always ended our calls. We could literally talk for hours about any and everything. A dream she had.
A FB post I'd written. Something she'd seen or heard that reminded her of me. Something her pastor said that touched her heart. She was so open minded. We could speak freely about any and everything. Though she was trained in Modern Medicine, she respected my belief in holistic healing and would not think twice about calling to ask my opinion on a particular herb, or tea or essential oil. She loved to laugh. Little things would set her off into a fit of laughter. Strange the last conversation we had was about a post I'd written on FB. What would you say to someone if you knew it would be your last conversation with them. She responded "I Love You. And I'm always a phone call away". I'm still going to call on You Heather. I Love You Too.
