Veronica Leasiolagi Baraber posted a condolence
Saturday, February 8, 2020
My brother Taulafoga, nickname Foga or "Al" a name given him when the people in New York could not pronounce his last name Leasiolagi. They used the first letter "L" of his last name and started calling him "L" which got translated to "Al". He was the oldest of our Mother Peauolagavale Leulupoao Leasiolagi and I am the youngest of her ten children. Our father, High Chief Leasiolagi-Gauta II had 13 children and the oldest was Talking Chief Lupelelafoalualemagafaiga Pelenakeke L Tevaga-Kelekolio and High Chief Fagasoaia-Iulio Leasiolagi (both preceded him in 1999 and 1988. Another older sister Usoimalo L Fuapopo-Avegalio of Daly City, California who turned 90 years old last August. We all pray that our brother Foga made it to his 90th in November of this year but God has other plans, better plans for him. He was ready to meet his Maker and he is definitely at peace from 8 years of suffering a major stroke. May Perpetual Light shine upon you dear Foga. We will miss your physical presence with us but you will be forever in our hearts! You and your wife, Antonia Santiago Leasiolagi were loved much by all of us and our extended family. We thank you both for all of the fond memories, the holy moments you provided our family in all of your visitations whether in New York, California, Hawai'i, or Samoa. They were a pure joy and lots of fun. We thank you both for the families you left behind: Gale, Andy, Daniel, Kathy and Taua. They have growing families of their own and that is a great blessing for us all. Please give our love and very best to all our dearly departed and remember to pray for us also from heaven as we pray for you from this side of heaven. Ia manuia lava lau Malaga Foga/your youngest sister Veronica "Nika" Leasiolagi Barber, aka Talking Chief Nofoavaeloloaolualemagafaiga. Peace and Prayer Always!

Uncle Foga will be greatly missed, thank you for always being a part of the weddings in the family. One of my fondest memories was his sense of humor.
Uncle Foga Rest In Peace now, until we meet again.
Our condolences to Kathy, Elliot, Andy, Daniel, Gale & families. Keeping all of you in our prayers!!!
Love, Maria Pele
