Obituary of Jose Jorge Martinez

Please share a memory of Jose to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

“If a man is called to be a street sweeper, he should sweep streets even as Michaelangelo painted, or Beethoven composed music or Shakespeare wrote poetry. He should sweep streets so well that all the hosts of heaven and earth will pause to say, 'Here lived a great street sweeper who did his job well.”

-Martin Luther King Jr.

The life of Jose Martinez embodies this quote to perfection.  He was an inspiration to all those who surrounded him.   Jose’s superhuman work ethic, dedication to his loved ones and endless positivity put him in the highest regard by every life he touched.  His wife Rosa and children Rose Jennifer, Stevens, Jorge and Ricky are a living testament of Jose’s achievement of the American Dream.

Jose Martinez was the life of the party and he brought smiles to everyone’s face with his presence and his love. One of his greatest motto’s was “Work hard and enjoy the best of life.” He always looked forward to coming home and spending time with kids and wife after a hard day at work

From his days fighting for the military in El Salvador, to his final battle with one of the rarest forms of blood cancer, Jose was a warrior, tried and true till the end.

Jose was only able to experience life for 51 short years.  The tragic events that have unfolded in the past week have left his family in utter disbelief.  Not only was Jose a great man, he was a father to 3 children currently pursuing academic degrees. Jose - may he rest in peace knowing that his family will continue his legacy, while his friends will embrace and celebrate his life. God Bless Jose Jorge Martinez. 11-28-1967 - 01-19-2019
