Obituary of Kevin Alexander Daigh

Kevin Alexander Daigh, 69, a longtime resident of Locust Valley, New York, died on October 21st, 2018, at his home in Locust Valley. Kevin was born on May 6th, 1949, in, Washington, D.C., the son of the late Mrs. Pamela Byrne Daigh and the late Mr. Michael Daigh of Richmond, Virginia. Kevin is survived by his three children, Katherine Chalmers Berry and her husband Nathan Daniel Berry of West Palm Beach, Florida; Kevin Alexander Daigh, Jr. and his wife Elizabeth Alston Armfield Daigh of New York, New York; and Elizabeth Byrne Daigh and her husband Luis Jairo Perez Jiron of Nosara, Costa Rica; and six grandchildren: Hudson Reisinger Berry, Lucas Daniel Berry, Mailo Augustine Perez Daigh, Alexander Armfield Daigh, Eleanor Chalmers Berry, and Gloria Avalina Perez Daigh.

Kevin grew up in Richmond and was a graduate of the Collegiate School, Class of 1968, where he was an avid baseball, soccer and football player. He graduated from the Virginia Military Institute in 1972, where he excelled on the football team for all four years.

Kevin began his real estate career at Foxpoint Ltd., a residential real estate agency in Locust Valley.  In 1984 he joined Douglas Elliman, where he spent the majority of his 39 year career in residential real estate specializing on the North Shore of Long Island.

Kevin was a member of Chappaquiddick Beach Club in Martha’s Vineyard; Massachusetts; Edgartown Yacht Club in Martha’s Vineyard; Everglades Club in Palm Beach, Florida; Piping Rock Club in Locust Valley; and St. John’s of Lattingtown Episcopal Church in Locust Valley, where he was a long standing usher.

Kevin was a dedicated squash and tennis player and was a vital part of the Piping Rock Racquets Program for many years.

The funeral will be held on Monday, October 29th, at 10:30 am at St. John’s of Lattingtown. The private burial will precede the memorial service.
