I am sorry to be getting the sad news at such a late date. But my memories are joyful. Emmet Agoglia and Harold McCoy were my first and greatest mentors as I began my legal career in New York back in 1975. I have remembered and applied the many lessons they taught me, and this has served me well in many jurisdictions for many clients. They were great, larger than life men. I miss them both, and will never forget them.

Unequivocally, Emmet Agoglia was among the finest men I ever knew.
He possessed all the moral virtues and intellect of the "vir justus" [the just man]. The good men and women that most of us struggle a lifetime to become, Emmet seemed to be by nature. I, however, was specially privledged to know the secrets of Emmet's "natural goodness." It came to him through two tremendously gracious founts: first and foremost was his deep, almost tangible, Catholic Faith; secondly (but vying for first-place), was his rich and enviable Brooklyn Sense of Humor.
On a very personal note: just outside Guadalajara, Jalisco, there is an orphanage that for decades was able to give hundreds of boys and girls letter lives in every respect, this, in great part, thanks to Emmet and Carol Agoglia's magnanimity.
On behalf of those children [now in their 30's, 40's and even 50's], of their children and of their grandchildren: Gracias, Don Emmet. May God in heaven reward you!
To Carol and the entire Agoglia Family, my condolences and prayers for Emmet's immortal soul and for your own peace of soul and heart.
servus,

Uncle Mickey you will be missed. I have fond memories of Brower Ave growing up and the many family get togethers we had over the years. One moment in particular I have always cherished was the time you brought me to an Islanders game to watch Gordie Howe play during the end of his career. You definately had the best seats in the house. God Bless and all my love, thoughts, and prayers. Kenny

Our family sends their condolences to Aunt Carol and our cousins. A mass will be said for Emmet at the church of Saint Joseph, Guardian of the Holy family in Ban Thin, Phen District, Udon Thani, Thailand on Sunday 29 July. I think it a fitting venue to remember my uncle, as like St. Joseph, he was a devoted husband and father.
I'll always remember Uncle Mickey for his happy disposition, his generosity and interest and patience with small children. I remember one evening he gladly spent a long while sitting at the piano listening to a 7-year-old make music.

Emmet was a gentleman in the truest sense of the word, and a Franciscan , as well, in the fullest measure.
It was my joy and my privilege to have him as a friend.
Rest In Peace Emmet!

Life is so fragile and is even more so when fractured and separated from a loved one. The Graziadei Family is saddened by the loss of Emmet but celebrate his full and complete life as a loving and loved husband, father, grandfather, friend, professional, colleague, humorist, debater, storyteller, but most of all a real person who illuminated and loved life! Emmet’s legacy is seen and felt by associating with his circle of family and friends. LOVE & RIP
