Dear Nonie, please accept my deepest sympathies to you and your family. For some things there are no words, only shoulders to lean on, hands to hold and hugs to comfort. I offer to you all of these. Our prayers are with you! Death leaves a heartache no one can heal, but love leaves a memory no one can steal and we shall always remember your husband. So sorry to learn late of his passing. In sympathy and empathy, John Burns (pastor/Chaplain)

Very sorry for the loss of Scooter.
When I was seven years old Scooter and Nonie came to visit us in Auburn. This was 1973 and Scooter got down on the floor and played "You sunk my battleship" for hours with my sister Sue and I. He of coarse allowed me to look over the wall and see where his battleship was to give me a fighting chance. The mustache and bell bottoms he was sporting and more importantly the kindness he showed us made him the coolest dude we had ever met. He made the time for us and it was etched in my memory forever. Scooter made no attempt to rush out of the room to go hang out with the adults. He hung in there as long as it took for me to bend the rules in my favor and win the game. While we were playing I remember Nonie coming to the door of the room and smiling ear to ear. I figured she was there to coral her man and end the game but they both took the time to treat us like little people instead of like the pesky kids we were. Kindness lasts a lifetime.
Thank you Scooter!

Scooter was a kind soul. I had the good fortune to work for him at the LN6000 site in Glenwood Landing. So sorry to hear of his passing. My condolences to the family.
