My mother, my husband and I had the pleasure of meeting Zebbie, my grandfather's (and my mother's) cousin, back in 1999. We spent a most pleasant day with him, listening to him talk about the bobs and the teams that rode them, and looking through his multitude of photographs. We practically begged him to come out to dinner with us, be he declined. I wish we'd have gotten to visit him again. I learned a few things I never knew about my grandfather, one being that he built iceboats that were famous for their speed, along with his bobsleds. RIP Zebbie, it was a pleasure having the privelege of meeting you.

Uncle Zebbie was my grandfather Edgar Wright's cousin. Their respective mothers were sisters and the daughters of Captain Edgar Weeks of the Sewannakha. One time when I visited him, he gave us a portrait of Edgar Weeks which is cherished. I grew up across the street from him on Mountain Avenue until I was 10. My grandfather was a member of the 1911 bobsled team owned by Zebbie's Dad. My mother, Joyce Wright Hartsoe, may be his closest living relative. I enjoyed visiting with him last summer and in previous summers with my sons Teddy and Henry. His house may be one of the oldest in Bayville. His longevity reminds me to eat oatmeal. Sorry we can't make the service from Tennessee.

My great-uncle is survived by his nieces, Dr. Lillian Runnerstom and Mrs. Edith Ryan!
He is also survived by many great nieces and nephews.
I remember going with him Ice Boating almost every week-end when I was very young. He got me my first telephone and talked my father into getting my first Boston Whaler.
He loved to sail, fish and later on golf.
Uncle Zebbie had some wonderful stories to tell us growing up.
He will be missed.
