Lawrence Thaddeus (Larry) O’Rourke Sr., 93, of Glen Cove, New York, passed away on July 13th 2026, in Glen Cove, New York.

Funeral services will be held at Our Saviour's Lutheran Church on 16 Glenwood Rd, Glen

Head, New York on Friday, August 14th 2026 at 10:00 a.m. Inurnment will follow at East

Hillside Cemetery, Cedar Swamp Road, Glen Head, New York.

Larry was born in Glen Cove, New York to Lizzie and James O’Rourke on December 14, 1932. He graduated from Glen Cove High School in 1952 and attended Rider College for one year before joining the U.S. Army in 1954. After being discharged from the Army in 1956 he went to work at Long Island Lighting Company (LILCO) for 40 years where he held various positions as a computer operator, programmer, and manager in LILCO’s

Information Technology areas. He enjoyed playing golf, hunting and fishing. He was

involved in establishing the Data Processing Manager Association (DPMA) Chapter on

Long Island and acted in leadership and advisory roles there and in subsequent IT

Organizations.

Larry is survived by his three children, Lonny (Theresa), Janet, and Bill (Anne). Proud

grandfather of Samantha, Shannon, Ali, Tara, Spencer, Kevin, Kelly, Willie. Great-

grandfather of Penelope, Angus, Thaddeus, Raffi, Sona, Casey and Oliver. Also survived

by many loving nieces and nephews.

Memorial donations may be made to Northwell Hospice, 2000 Marcus Avenue, New

Hyde Park, NY 11042.
