Ada Carbone Shamen Obituary
Ada Carbone Shamen of Glen Cove, New York, passed away peacefully on June 10, 2026.
Ada was a kind and strong-willed woman whose determination carried her through every challenge life placed before her. She faced adversity with courage, resilience, and perseverance.
Ada found joy in the outdoors and lived an active life. She loved swimming, kayaking, bike riding, and spending time in nature.
She is survived by her husband, John, with whom she shared 38 years of marriage; her daughters, Victoria (Mark McLaughlin, deceased) and Danielle (Mark Junker); her grandchildren, Robert McLaughlin (Elizabeth), Melissa, Lila, Mia, and Brogan; and her great-grandchildren, Madeleine and Reilly. She is also survived by her sister, Olga; her brothers, Richard and Frank; and many nieces and nephews.
Ada was predeceased by her husband, Robert Carbone, and her brothers, Lawrence and Edward.
A Catholic Mass will be celebrated at Saint Rocco's Church, 18 3rd St, Glen Cove, NY on Saturday, June 13, 2026, at 9:15 a.m. Interment at Pinelawn Memorial Park in Farmingdale will immediately follow the Mass.
A Celebration of Life will be held at the Basil Leaf Café, 7-B The Plaza, Locust Valley, NY beginning at 1:00 p.m.
Her memory will live on in the hearts of her family and friends.
