In Loving Memory of Maria Tsinivizidis-Atsidis

Maria Tsinivizidis-Atsidis, 49, of Bayville, New York, passed away peacefully on June 4, 2026, after a courageous battle with cancer that spanned more than three years.

Born on October 22, 1976, in Brooklyn, New York, Maria was the beloved daughter of Barbara Tsinivizidis and the late Stephanos Tsinivizidis. As an only child, Maria cherished family deeply and in 2005 Maria started her own family through her marriage to John Atsidis. Together they built a loving family and raised their two children, Stephania and Nikolaos, who were the pride and joy of her life. Through her marriage, Maria was grateful to gain loving siblings, Soula and George Voumvourakis, and Mike Atsidis. She also treasured her relationships with her nieces, Nicole and Themie, and her nephew, Nicholas, all of whom held a special place in her heart.

Maria dedicated her career to helping others achieve their best. As a physical trainer, spin instructor, and teacher assistant, she inspired countless people through her encouragement, determination, and belief in their potential. She challenged her friends, family, students, and trainees to grow beyond what they thought possible, always offering support, motivation, and genuine care.

Maria found happiness in spending time with loved ones, listening to music, working out, and being at the beach. She loved being surrounded by the people she cared about and had a remarkable gift for bringing others together. Her warmth, kindness, and infectious spirit could light up any room. A gentle soul with a generous heart, Maria brought joy, comfort, and strength to everyone fortunate enough to know her.

Maria is survived by her devoted husband, John Atsidis; her beloved children, Stephania and Nikolaos Atsidis; her loving mother, Barbara Tsinivizidis; her mother-in-law, Maria Atsidis; her sister and brother-in-law, Soula and George Voumvourakis; her brother-in-law, Mike Atsidis; and her cherished nieces and nephew, Nicole, Themie, and Nicholas. She was predeceased by her father, Stephanos Tsinivizidis and her father-in-law Nikolaos Atsidis.

Maria's legacy lives on in the countless lives she touched through her compassion, resilience, encouragement, and unwavering love. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered by her family, friends, colleagues, and all whose lives were made brighter by her presence.

Visitation on Monday, June 8, 2026 at the Holy Resurrection Greek Orthodox Church from 6 - 8pm

Trisagion Service at 7:00 pm

Tuesday, June 9, 2026 morning viewing at the Holy Resurrection Greek Orthodox Church from 9 – 10am. Funeral Service immediately following.

Burial will be at All Saints Monastery in Riverhead.
