I remember getting our Mom's ready selecting dresses doing their hair in latest styles before Jernice Brenda's Mom and Cecilia my Mom were getting ready to go out on the town...Brenda was baby sitting for her siblings and I was baby sitting my sibblings..... Brenda practicing with group by piano in her front porch..Jamaica Queens...going with her and The Exciters to different gigs loved watching them backstage like at the Apollo theater.....we were and always will remain Sisters Forever.... ♥️

I want to honor the beautiful life of Brenda Reid and express my deepest gratitude for the extraordinary blessing she was to our family for nearly 15 years. Nena you so much more than a friend to us. Through your love, kindness, prayers, wisdom, and genuine maternal heart, you became family. The bond we shared was not one of blood, but of something far more powerful — unconditional love, care, and God’s divine connection. You loved my children deeply, but the love and special connection you shared with Matthew was truly something precious and unforgettable. The gift of his first Bible from her hands will forever remain one of the most meaningful treasures in our family. It was more than a gift — it was love, faith, and a piece of your heart that will stay with him forever. I thank God with all my heart for placing you nena in our lives. In a world where genuine people are rare, He allowed our paths to cross and gave us the privilege of experiencing your warmth, grace, and beautiful spirit. Your presence brought comfort, joy, laughter, wisdom, and so much love into our lives. Though our hearts are deeply saddened by her passing, we are also profoundly grateful for every moment, every prayer, every conversation, every embrace, and every memory we were blessed to share with you nena. Nenas’s love left an imprint on our hearts that time will never erase. You will forever be remembered with immense love, gratitude, admiration, and honor. When I was around seven years old she was my Older sister Maggies Best Friend and my Mother and Brenda's Mom Jernice were best buddies and came to our rescue many days of us running away from domestic situations so we spent allot of time at Brenda's house sleeping over, eating and just feeling loved and protected. One time Herbie yelled and chased me away as I was peeking at he and Brenda smooching. Now I sent pictures of Brenda singing at my son's wedding 8 yrs ago. Will miss you. Cookie

I miss my Big Sister sooo very very much. I am heart broken All the air hugs , and kisses and us singing together. Sometimes she would tell me that I was singing flat (which I wasn't) But that was my Big Sister, with a hit record out, who was I to argue to say no? Thank you for your teachings growing up and even some as an adult, and the laughs , But most of all ? Your Love. I will Forever Miss you.
