TUTHILL, David M. of Glen Cove, NY on October 28th, 2025 at age 65. Beloved son of the late Chester and the late Henrietta. Loving brother of Paul (Cathy, the late Linda Carroll (Tommy) and Lori Yastrub (Steve). Cherished uncle of Joseph, Stephanie and T.J..

Beloved by all who knew him, David was the light and joy of our lives.

David was born on December 15, 1959. This was Henrietta and Chester's fourth child. They dedicated their lives to this special child, and in doing so showed us all how to love more deeply.

Through Nassau BOCES, David received a wonderful education and graduated from the Rosemary Kennedy School in 1981. Shortly thereafter, David joined a Boy Scout Troop 30 in Lynbrook for handicapped youth. He was passionate about scouting and enjoyed the monthly meetings which his sister Linda accompanied him to. He also loved camping and marching in the Glen Cove Memorial Day parade each year. Later on, his father served as troop leader.

David had a remarkable memory for dates and details. He developed a love for the comedy team of Abbott and Costello and watched every movie multiple times. Having memorized many of his favorite routines, he loved to perform them with his "Partner", his brother Paul. David also loved watching professional wrestling and was a huge fan of the Three Stooges and their antics.

David loved to swim, dance, and exercise. In particular he enjoyed walking outdoors. Rain or shine David had to do his "laps". He also enjoyed visiting the casinos and was very lucky with the slots!

His sister Lori and brother Paul would like to express their gratitude to the Nassau AHRC group homes that he resided in after his father's passing. He met many wonderful friends and the staffs were no less than amazing in their care for him.

We are also incredibly grateful that God chose to grace our family with this sweet soul. His mere presence shaped our lives in countless ways. We find comfort in knowing that although David is not here physically, the memories of him will last forever.

Visiting at Dodge-Thomas Funeral Home of Glen Cove on Friday, October 31st, 2025 from 9:30-11:30am. Funeral Service at Dodge-Thomas on Friday at 11am. Interment to follow at Huntington Rural Cemetery.
