Obituary of Grace Ann Nelson

Grace Ann Nelson passed away peacefully on August 17, 2025 at the Age of 70, after a long struggle with respiratory ailments.

Grace was predeceased by her father Alan C. Nelson and her mother Grace G. Nelson.  She is survived by her dear brother Bruce Nelson as well as numerous loving cousins.  One of her cousins recalls her as always smiling, cheerful, interested in others and sweet.

Grace was born in Glen Cove, NY and was a lifelong resident of Long Island.  She spent her childhood in Sea Cliff and Locust Valley before relocating to Elmont, NY with her former husband Kenneth Cortis, where she lived for much of her life.  Grace enjoyed swimming and cherished time spent with friends at the beach.  She also loved her pet dogs and cats, which she had many.

Arrangements entrusted to Dodge-Thomas Funeral Home of Glen Cove.  A graveside service and interment is planned for 1:00pm on Friday, September 12, 2025 at Locust Valley Cemetery.
