Obituary of James Hepp

James “Jim” Hepp has passed away at the age of 96. Born in 1928, he lived in Glen Cove for 66 years. James was a bold entrepreneur who revolutionized the advertising field with his innovative cardboard designs. He founded the companies Les Jay and Atlantic Display which produced his unique point of sale displays. He was also a visual artist, an aviator who built his own single-seat helicopter and an inspiration to all who knew him.  He loved living on Long Island where he was an avid boater and enjoyed tennis and riding a Honda motorcycle. Mostly he loved sharing his Glen Cove home with his family.
He is survived by his wife Margaret “Margie” Hepp and his brother, Allen Hepp, as well as his three children, Jay Hepp, Leslie Hepp, and Holly Hepp-Galvan. In addition, he has six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
The wake will be held on Wednesday, March 26th at Dodge Thomas Funeral Home located at 26 Franklin Avenue in Glen Cove, NY 11542. Viewing will be from 2:00 – 4:00pm and 6:00 – 8:00pm. A private burial at Locust Valley Cemetery will be held on Thursday, March 27th .
